"SERVICE IS LOVE MADE VISIBLE"

this year i've been volunteering  w/ hosea feed the hungry.
i never have seen so much chicken at one time in my whole life.
they had me pouring the chicken juice into buckets and pouring chicken into "lex pans". i had such a good time. volunteering feels so good.
although my back ached by the end of the night,to know that i'm cooking for someone less fortunate, makes it all worth it.

[ special shoutout to mary, aja, chef pete, and chef G who reminded me of my granddad. HOSEA♥ ]

I got my hair colored today!!! Here are some pictures for your fancy... As you'll see, I kinda got carried away hehehe (I actually took a lot more pics, but i spared you guys & decided NOT to post them)

I love taking pics with this camera because it makes my skin look sooo freaking clear & vibrant. Yasssss for this Sony Cybershot!!! *snaps*

ANYWAYZ, I really like how the color turned out even though it was not at ALL what I was expecting. You see, because my stylist didn't bleach my hair, the purple that I was hoping for, didn't show up as vibrant.

Umm.. I don't even know how to describe this color... Is it burgundy? rust? mahagony? maple? idk? Perhaps, it's everything because it's a mixture of colors. I'm excited to see what it'll look like in the sun. Maybe the purple will be more dominant. Anywho... I'm satisfied :-)

When I got home, I re-conditioned my hair using Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner & I applied this Hair Mayonnaise and styled my hair with the bantu knots. Afterwards, I took out the bantu knots, rinsed the mayo out of my hair and now I'm currently waiting for it dry before I apply my twists.

I like change.. and I think I'm happy w/ the results for that reason and the color is simply beautiful =) (#everythinghappensforareason)

k, bye
more pics tomorrow when my hair is dry..
fyi: my hair is wet in all of these photos!

Nails. I haven't done my nails in such a long time. I've been so busy with school that I just don't have the time nor energy to do them after a long day. But now that I'm on break from school, I figured I would give myself a manicure....As you can see below, it was long overdue.

Actually, when I was younger, I thought I would become a nail technician. To say the least, I love doing nails and having my nails freshly polished makes me feel so much better. Our hands say so much about the person that we are. Whether rough or soft, short nails or long, painted nails or natural ones, our hands and nails can sometimes speak louder than words.

Lately, I've been taking Hair, Skin, & Nails pills. Since then, I've actually noticed a difference in my nails. :) I just need to get better about taking them regularly. (sometimes I forget)

I plan to rock these festive nails for both Christmas & New Year's Eve! The purchased the nail polish for only 99 cents at my local beauty supply store. The brand is Klean Color.

happy holidays. (:

Hi guys!!
Well, my first year as a college freshman is coming to a close. This semester has seriously flew by! While I'm home for break there are a few challenges and procedures that I'm going to get done to my hair.

1. Castor Oil Challenge
{This challenge is hosted by kinkycurlycoilyme.com}
Basically, from December 1st to March 2014, I have to apply castor oil to my hair. Apparently, castor oil is a special oil that helps your hair grow to an impressive length in a short amount of time (3 Months).

All, I had to do to enter this challenge was:

  • List how I'll use the castor oil (Massage it into my scalp 3+ times a week)
  • List the length of my hair (TWA)
  • List the brand/ type of castor oil I'll be using (Drugstore Castor Oil)1
  • Provide a photo of the length of my hair now

I'm hoping that I'll be successful in this challenge and win the grand prize below!!!

2. Hair Color
As you guys know, I've been wanting to add color to my hair for the longest time. After doing a lot of research and watching plenty of YouTube videos, I finally am ready & prepared to get it done over the break.

At first, I was gonna use the Shea Moisture Dye (to the left) to get the job done for only $14.99, but after watching the video below, I see the importance of getting it done professionally. Too much can go wrong when you're trying to do it yourself! This link provides more information about the shea moisture color line: http://kinkycurlycoilyme.com/sheamoisture-hair-care-color-system-the-art-of-color/

I love both of their hair colors, especially the red. :)
&
As you guys know, I originally wanted a plum color like this:
I think it's so gorgeous!!

Lately I've been looking at pinterest to get more inspiration and to say the least! I'm confused about what color I want... blondes, browns, or purples???
